The project began in 2015 during a three-month art residency at Rimbun Dahan in Georgetown, Malaysia. I engaged with a diverse range of passersby, asking them a simple question: "What do you wish you had known when you were younger?" The goal was to spark meaningful conversations and create genuine human connections.
I recorded their responses and drew their portraits, which were later shared on social media. As part of the project, I also facilitated workshops in both Georgetown and Melbourne, where participants sat across from one another and drew each other. The intention was to foster presence, connection, and vulnerability — to meet each other's gaze and let the guard down.
The project and the findings were presented at the 2016 International RANZCP Congress of Psychiatry in Hong Kong.
