Nina Rupena is a Bosnian-born artist, now living in the Barossa where she is restoring an old cottage and regenerating the land on her property. She’s a painter, illustrator, and maker, who above all, enjoys creating and having fingers in many pots. She has collaborated with fellow artists, designers, and organisations on diverse projects in Australia and internationally, from costume and set design to large art installations and mural painting. Currently, Nina focuses on painting in her Barossa studio, working with natural pigments, oil and acrylic mediums. She looks for inspiration in the soil and landscape around her property, finding beauty in broken leaves, branches, and the colours of the soil.
